This is My Design

Blame it on the rising darkness Don’t blame it on the dark inside Yeah, blame it on the full moon shining in the night and Tugging on the rising tide There are forces In this world we can’t control Though we may try to understand We try to grasp it, Clinging tight to bookmarked bibles It slips like smoke between our hands So tell me why You’re giving into all this darkness Have you caught glimpses of the plan? You’re just as clueless As every one of us Tough luck—you’re just a simple man So blame it on the rising darkness Don’t blame it on the dark inside Yeah, blame it on the full moon shining in the night and Tugging on the rising tide Shadows growing As the sun sets on this day It’s hard to tell who’s friend or foe God, shine a light on The ones you call your angels And shelter me from those below Yeah, there are forces We may never understand Try as we may, we can’t control Fool yourself Into thinking you know better The only cost is your damn soul So blame it on the rising darkness Don’t listen to the doubt inside Yeah, blame it on the full moon shining in the night and Tugging on the rising tide Blame it on the rising darkness Don’t blame it on the dark inside Yeah, blame it on the full moon shining in the night and Tugging on the rising tide

Iodine 03:18
The acrid smell of iodine in the air The gentle look of knowing in your stare The words you say, so sweet, betraying nothing of your aims An appetite so rare The scalpel sits so readily displayed The strips of gauze with stitching like a maze The pain I feel so quickly is assuaged Now on to the next phase (Instrumental) I’ll nod right off before you even know Perhaps there’s still a chance you’ll let me go The wounds are deep, but hope’s still running true Please say it isn’t so

In a minute you’ll feel nothing But until then, we’ll have fun And it won’t matter how you struggle You’ll get no help from anyone And I’ll admit I get a charge from frantic newscasts But right now, it’s you and me They’ll theorize the “who” and “why” but never realize My modus operandi This is my design This is my design The way I’ve got you here right now Is how I planned it from the start And only I know how to slow that racing heart This is my design They say they’ve got their best detectives on the case But none of them have any clue My path seems random, but it’s carefully constructed I know exactly why I do the things I do And you may try to reason with me Try to argue moral ground But I left right and wrong behind some time ago So it’s best if you not make a sound Don’t like it? This is my design This is my design The way I’ve got you with me now Is how I planned it all along The perfect placement for a note in this sweet song (Instrumental) This is my design This is my design The way I’ve got you here right now Is how I choose to make my art And only I can hear the beating of your heart I hear their footsteps on the floor above our heads Seems my play is at an end I’ll leave, you’ll live, you get away this time But I hope we’ll meet again, my friend This is my design This is my design The way you’re running from me now Ain’t how I planned it from the start But I have many ways to stop that beating heart This is my design This is my design
